What happens when my Prerender.io account is canceled or suspended?

What to expect after cancelation, what the 30-day grace period covers, and how to reactivate.

TL;DR

When your Prerender.io account is canceled or suspended, automatic and manual recaching stop immediately. Live rendering continues for 30 days through a grace period, after which all services stop and API requests return HTTP 503. To restore service, log in to your Prerender.io dashboard, go to Billing, and complete any outstanding payment.

Why accounts get canceled or suspended

Two things can trigger a suspension:

You requested it. You chose to pause or cancel your subscription through your Prerender.io dashboard.

Unpaid invoices. When an invoice is not paid, Prerender.io sends several payment reminder emails to the account owner. Each email includes a link to complete the payment. If no payment is made, the account is suspended automatically.

What stops immediately after cancelation

As soon as your subscription is canceled, two services stop:

Automatic recaching. All scheduled recaching is disabled. Pages are no longer recached based on your cache interval settings.

Manual recaching. Any attempt to recache pages via the API or your Prerender.io dashboard will fail right away.

The 30-day grace period

After cancellation, Prerender.io provides a 30-day grace period. During this period:

  • Live, on-demand rendering continues to work normally.
  • Cached content is still served to AI crawlers and search engines.

This gives you time to reactivate your account or migrate your setup without losing AI & Search visibility immediately.

⚠️ The grace period covers live rendering only. Recaching remains disabled. Pages cached before cancellation may become stale during this window.

What happens after 30 days

When the grace period ends:

  • All rendering services stop completely.
  • API requests return HTTP 503.
  • The account is fully inactive and no longer processes any render requests.

At this point, AI crawlers and search engines visiting your site will no longer receive fully rendered HTML from Prerender.io. This may affect your indexing and AI & Search visibility. For more context on how rendering affects crawler behavior, see How Prerender.io works.

How to reactivate your account

If your account was canceled for unpaid invoices:

  1. Log in to your Prerender.io dashboard.
  2. Go to Billing.
  3. Click either Pay now or Reactivate.

ℹ️ Either button settles any outstanding invoices and reactivates your subscription automatically.

If you added a new valid payment method:

Prerender.io reactivates your subscription automatically once a valid payment method is on file. No manual action is needed.
