Article summary

When using Prerender.io, most websites don't experience any issues with mobile vs. desktop crawlers as they are responsive. If your website is adaptive and you serve a different page to desktop vs. mobile viewports, we can turn on a feature for your account which will save both a desktop and mobile page separately.

If we turn on mobile adaptive for your account, you can have up to 2X more pages cached since we will save mobile and desktop versions of the page.

If you want to turn on mobile adaptive, go to Settings on your Dashboard, scroll down to "Rendering Devices" and enable Mobile Optimized Render.

Prerender will only cache mobile versions of your pages when a mobile crawler requests them. To differentiate between a mobile and a desktop bot, Prerender needs to receive the complete name of the user agent, both for caching mobile pages and serving them.
You can pre-cache mobile versions of pages using our Recache API and setting adaptiveType to mobile.
