Prerender.io pricing changes: what changed and what it means for your plan

Four new plans, updated features, and everything you need to know about where your account landed.

TL;DR

Prerender.io launched four new plans (Starter, Growth, Pro, and Enterprise Plus) in October 2025, replacing all previous plans and add-ons. All existing customers were migrated to the closest matching new plan on November 17, 2025. The free plan was discontinued and replaced by a free 30-day Starter trial with 25,000 renders.

What changed

Prerender.io updated its pricing structure in October 2025. Here is a summary of the key changes:

  • Four new plans replaced all previous plans: Starter, Growth, Pro, and Enterprise Plus.
  • All existing customers were migrated to one of these plans on November 17, 2025. Customers on custom contracts or annual plans were excluded from automatic migration.
  • The free plan (1,000 renders/month) was discontinued and replaced by a free 30-day Starter trial with 25,000 renders.
  • The add-on packages (ProPay, Kickstart, Security+, and Advantage+) were discontinued. The functionality from those packages is now included in the subscription plans.
  • Annual billing is no longer available on self-serve plans (Starter, Growth, and Pro). Annual billing requires an Enterprise Plus plan.

ℹ️ Your current plan can be changed at any time. Log in to your Prerender.io dashboard, open the Billing page, and select the plan that best fits your needs.

The free Starter trial

The Free plan (1,000 renders/month) was discontinued on October 15, 2025.

New users who sign up for Prerender.io now receive a free 30-day Starter trial: 25,000 renders, flexible caching, and API access. After the trial ends, you can remove your Prerender.io integration at no charge, or choose a paid plan to continue rendering uninterrupted.

⚠️ If you do not upgrade or remove your integration after the trial ends, crawler requests sent to Prerender.io will go unfulfilled. Unfulfilled crawler requests can affect your AI & Search visibility.

Why Prerender.io updated its pricing

The pricing update reflects ongoing investment in infrastructure, security, and AI crawler support. Key areas of investment include:

  • Rendering backbone upgrades for greater scale, uptime, and crawler compatibility.
  • New capabilities for AI visibility, cache control, and usage automation.
  • Capacity increases to reduce queuing and timeouts during traffic spikes.

New and upcoming capabilities

The updated plans include capabilities that were previously available only as paid add-ons or not available at all.

Pattern-based caching rules. Set cache expiration by URL path or pattern, giving you finer control over which pages are re-rendered and when. See pattern-based cache expiration for step-by-step instructions.

Recache API on all plans. The Recache API is now available on every paid plan. Use it to schedule re-renders for frequently updated pages while leaving the rest of your site on a longer cache schedule.

Extended data retention. Up to two years of dashboard data retention, available on Pro and Enterprise Plus.

Dashboard alerts. Proactive notifications for changes in your rendering activity. Coming soon.

Audit Log. Track changes to workspace settings. Available on Growth, Pro, and Enterprise Plus under Security & Access.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What happened to the old free plan? The 1,000 renders/month free plan was discontinued on October 15, 2025. It was replaced by a free 30-day Starter trial with 25,000 renders, flexible caching, and API access.

What happens if I go over my plan's render limit? Start by optimizing your setup. Common causes of high render volume include query parameter variations, admin or login pages being forwarded to Prerender.io, soft 404 pages, and cache expiration set too low.  See how to reduce the number of renders for step-by-step instructions. If you are still consistently over the limit after optimizing, upgrading to a higher plan is more cost-effective than paying for extra renders.

Can I keep my old price? No. All customers were migrated to the new pricing structure by November 17, 2025. If the change is particularly disruptive for your team, contact support to discuss short-term options.

How does the SLA differ between plans? Support response times are prioritized by plan tier. Pro and Enterprise Plus customers also receive proactive outreach from the support team, for example if Prerender.io detects a sudden drop in renders or crawler visits.

I was on the ProPay package. What happened to my account? If you were not contacted by the Prerender.io team with a request to make a change, no action is needed on your end.

What happened to my annual plan? Customers on annual plans were not automatically migrated on November 17, 2025. Your plan continued until the end of your annual cycle. Prerender.io switched the billing period to monthly and applied internal credits to cover future invoices. No additional charges were applied.

Does Prerender.io support AI crawlers? Yes. See recommended AI crawler user agents for Prerender.io for configuration guidance.
