Changes to Prerender.io pricing structure

Prerender.io pricing changes: what’s new, who is affected, and how to choose the right plan

Prerender’s pricing and plans are evolving to match the value, reliability, and visibility our platform delivers today—and to fuel what’s next. This update reflects continued investment in reliability, security, and intelligent resource control, ensuring your content stays visible to every crawler.

Below is everything you need to know: the value behind the change, plan specifics, key definitions, timelines, and FAQs—including an important note about SEO if you don’t upgrade.

What is changing?

Here's a summarized (birds-eye) view of the changes being made:

  • We've introduced new plans (Starter, Growth, Pro, Enterprise Plus). Everyone who signs up for Prerender from October 15th, 2025 will be on one of these plans.
  • We are migrating all existing customers to these plans. We will not be grandfathering (keeping the old prices) for existing customers. The migration date is November 17, 2025
  • The Free plan is discontinued. All Free users have been migrated to a 30-day trial of the Starter plan.
  • The add-on packages (ProPay, Kickstart, Security+ & Advantage+) will no longer be available going forward. This is true for both future and existing customers. Functionality related to those packages will now be included into the subscription plans.

What are the new plans?

Below are the new plan options, made available on October 15, 2025. To keep our database organized, we're consolidating all previous Prerender plans into one of the four plans below. By November 17, 2025, all existing customers* will be migrated to one of these plans. To see which plan you might fall into review the "Migration from" column in the table below.
For example, after November 17, 2025, all Scaleup customers will be enrolled in the Pro plan, while all Startup plans will migrate to our new Growth plan.

Important: your "new" plan can be easily changed. To do so, log in to your Prerender account, open the Billing page and select a plan that best suits your needs.

Introducing the new Free Starter trial

As of October 15, 2025, the unlimited Free plan (1,000 renders per month) will be discontinued. Instead, we're offering a free, 30-day trial of our Starter plan: 25,000 renders, flexible caching, and API access.

Why are we making this change? Customer feedback showed us that 1,000 renders wasn't enough for users to properly test out Prerender, while the next plan was out of reach. This free Starter trial—and the new Starter plan in general—allows any new customer to properly give Prerender a try without an investment.

Here's how this will look like in action:

  • New users will enroll automatically onto the free 30-day Starter trial upon signup.
  • Existing Free plan users will be migrated onto the Starter trial on October 15, 2025. You will have 1 month to try out the new features and decide whether to upgrade or not. Please note that your renders from the Free plan will not reset when moving to the Starter trial.

Important: If during the free trial you decide to not upgrade, please disable your Prerender integration. Sending crawler requests to Prerender without an active subscription can impact your SEO.

Pricing plan migration timeline

  • October 15, 2025. New plans become available. Plus:

    • Existing Free plan users are enrolled into the 30-day Starter trial.
    • All existing customers are informed about the migration.
  • Oct 15-Nov 17, 2025. All customers have the ability to change the plan they will migrate to as of November 17th.

  • November 17, 2025. The migration of existing customers to new plans is executed.

Why we’re updating our pricing

We are in the process of making significant infrastructure and security investments. We're upgrading our rendering backbone for scale, uptime, and crawler compatibility. This pricing change helps us keep that momentum, supporting new capabilities in AI visibility, caching control, and automation. In short, it’s an investment in stability, speed, and the future of Prerender.

New & upcoming capabilities

  • Pattern-based caching rules to fine-tune TTLs by path or pattern, enabling you to have more control over your cache and usage.

  • Better controls and APIs for usage visibility and automation. Unlike before, access to the recache API will be available on all plans

  • More reliable rendering at scale. Capacity and infrastructure upgrades reduce queueing and timeouts during traffic spikes, improving crawl success rates and page freshness across large sites.

  • Data and security-focused investments. We’re offering up to a 2 year data retention period for Dashboard data. Soon, you'll also be able to create Dashboard-based Alerts. Lastly, we're working hard on hardening our infrastructure and preparing for future security certifications.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I have to do anything right now?

If you're an existing customer reading this (and it's sometime between October 15th to November 17th, 2025) please login to the Prerender Billing page. Double check that the plan you're migrating to is the one that best suits your needs.

What happened to the free plan with 1,000 renders?

It’s replaced with a 30-day Starter trial, giving you 25,000 renders, API access, and flexible caching options. After that, you can either remove your Prerender integration (no charges applied) or choose your preferred plan to keep rendering uninterrupted.

What happens if I don’t remove my integration after my trial ends?

Continuing to send requests to Prerender without an active plan will lead to unfulfilled crawler requests and can impact your SEO. If you choose against upgrading, disable the Prerender integration.

What happens if my renders are over my new plan's limit?

We recommend you:

  • Make use of newly added features such as the pattern-based cache freshness setting and reduce any "unnecessary" renders. In other words, avoid re-caching pages that get updated very rarely.
  • If you're vastly over the limit even after reducing the renders we recommend you consider upgrading to a higher plan as doing so is more affordable than paying for extra renders.

Is there a discount if this is unexpected for my team?

If this change is particularly problematic for you, reach out. We’ll review limited, short-term discounts on a case-by-case basis.

Can I keep my old price?

We understand this change may take adjustment, but maintaining old pricing structures would limit our ability to support and secure all users equally. All customers will be migrated to one of the new plans by November 17, 2025.

How do I tune cache expiration by section of my site?

Use per-URL (pattern) cache rules to override the global TTL. Start with business-critical or frequently-changing paths (e.g., product pages), then expand. For more details and step-by-step instructions open the pattern-based cache expiration article.

Do you support AI/modern crawlers?

Yes—definitely. Investing in architecture and AI visibility is a major priority for us in 2026. For more details on how to make your website visible to AI crawlers open this article.

What is Recache API and Audit Log?

Recache API is a service that allows you to better control how often specific pages get re-cached. It allows you to render your most frequently updated pages more often while keeping the rest of the site on a longer recaching schedule (thus saving on resources). Unlike before, Reache API is now available on all plans!

Audit Log is a feature that enabled you to see how data/settings changed in the workspace. If a setting changed and you're not sure how, Audit Log can usually help. The feature is available on Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans and is located under the "Security & Access" section.

How does the SLA work? How does it differ between plans?

The SLA refers to our commitment to respond to your questions in a certain time frame. Due to capacity constraints, the team must prioritize questions from higher tiered plans. Along with faster Support, customers on the Pro and Enterprise plans can also expect to get proactive messages from the Support team. For example, if we notice a sudden drop in renders or crawler visits.

I was paying for the ProPay package. Now what?

Nothing, you're good. If you weren't contacted by us with a request to make a change, you don't need to do anything.
