Team accounts and user roles

Invite teammates to your Prerender.io account with one of five roles, so each person gets the access they need and nothing more.

TL;DR

Team accounts let multiple users share a single Prerender.io account with role-based permissions. There are five roles: Super Admin (full access, account owner), Admin (technical and billing, can't manage Super Admins), Billing Manager (billing only), Team Member (technical full access, billing view-only), and Guest (view-only). Invitations are sent and managed under Security and Access > Team Members in your dashboard and expire after 7 days.

Overview

Team accounts in Prerender.io let multiple users share a single account with their own logins and role-based permissions. This makes it easier for larger teams to split work between developers, SEO and marketing staff, billing owners, and contractors without sharing one set of credentials. Each invitee gets a role that determines what they can see and change.

User roles and permissions

Each team member is assigned a role that determines their level of access and the actions they can take.

How to invite a team member

Step 1: open Security and Access in your dashboard.

Log in to your Prerender.io dashboard and go to Security and Access > Team Members.

Step 2: enter the invitee's details.

Type the email address and full name of the person you want to invite.

Step 3: assign the role.

Pick a role from the dropdown that matches what the person will be doing. Only the role types your current role is allowed to invite will appear in the list (see the User roles and permissions table above).

Step 4: send the invitation.

Click Submit. The invitee receives an email with a link to join your account.

✅ The invitation is queued when the new member appears in the Team Members list. Once they accept and sign in, their status updates to active.

How to update a member's role

Step 1: find the member in Security and Access.

Go to Security and Access > Team Members and locate the person's row in the list.

Step 2: open the role editor.

Click the gear icon next to the trash icon for that user.

Step 3: pick the new role and confirm.

Select the new role from the dropdown and confirm the change. The new permissions apply immediately the next time the member loads the dashboard.

How to remove a team member

Step 1: open the Team Members list.

Go to Security and Access > Team Members.

Step 2: delete the user.

Locate the user you want to remove and click the trash icon next to their name. Confirm the removal in the dialog that appears.

The user loses access immediately. Any pending session on their end will be invalidated the next time they make a request.

Things worth knowing

  • Invitation expiry. Invitations are valid for 7 days. If the invitee misses that window, send a fresh invite from the same screen.
  • Email conflicts. If the email you are trying to invite is already registered with another Prerender.io account, contact support@prerender.io for help merging or transferring access.
  • Pick the least-privilege role. Assign roles based on what each person actually needs to do. A Team Member or Guest seat is safer than handing out Admin or Super Admin where it is not necessary.
