The Team Accounts feature in Prerender.io enables seamless collaboration by allowing multiple users to access and manage a single account. With this feature, you can assign specific roles and permissions, ensuring your team operates efficiently while maintaining security and accountability.

This feature is especially valuable for larger teams where developers, engineers, and administrators need distinct levels of access and functionality.

Detailed Explanation / How It Works

User Roles and Permissions

Each team member is assigned a role, which determines their level of access and available actions:

Role Permissions
Super Admin (Account Owner)
  • Full access across the entire application
  • Can manage all roles including other Super Admins- Full technical, billing, and team management permissions
Admin
  • Full access to technical and billing features
  • Can manage all roles except Super Admins
  • Access to integration wizard, domain/sitemap management, SEO tools, billing, and team management
Billing Manager
  • Full billing access (plan changes, billing history, payment methods, referral system)
  • Technical restrictions: cannot modify cache, recache, domains, sitemaps, URL params, SEO reports
  • Cannot toggle email preferences
  • Team management limited: can only invite Billing Managers & Guests
  • Cannot modify company information
Team Member
  • Technical full access (cache, recache, URL params, domains, sitemaps, SEO, reporting)
  • Billing view-only (cannot change plans, manage payment methods, or view billing history)
  • Cannot access referral features
  • Cannot toggle email preferences
  • Team management limited: can invite only Team Members & Guests
  • Company details: view-only
Guest (Most restrictive)
  • View-only role
  • Email preferences disabled (cannot toggle any notifications)
  • Cannot manage billing or plans (plan changes, trials, upgrades, payment methods, billing history, referral system)
  • Content restrictions: cannot manage cache, recache, ignored URLs, or delete pages
  • Domain & sitemap restrictions: cannot verify integrations, import/modify/delete sitemaps, or trigger crawls
  • SEO restrictions: cannot modify SEO reports or 404 checker
  • Team restrictions: cannot invite users, cannot create roles
  • Account restrictions: cannot change company info or interact with blur overlays

Inviting a Team Member

  1. Navigate to the Prerender dashboard and go to Security and Access > Team Members section.
  2. Enter the email address and the full name of the person you wish to invite.
  3. Assign a role to the invitee based on their responsibilities.
  4. Click Submit.

Managing Roles

To update a member’s role:

  • Locate their profile by going to Security and Access menu > Team Members list.
  • Click the gear icon beside the trash (delete) icon.
  • Select the desired role from the dropdown menu and confirm the changes.

Removing Users

  1. Go to Security and Access menu > Team Members section.
  2. Locate the user you want to remove and click the delete icon next to their name.
  3. Confirm the removal.

Additional Information 

  • Invitation Expiry: Invitations are valid for 7 days. If an invitee misses the window, you’ll need to resend the invite.
  • Email Conflicts: If a team member's email is already registered with another account, contact Prerender.io support for assistance.
  • Role Management: Assign roles carefully to maintain security and limit unnecessary access.
